Pathway to Pincha with Kate

  • Fold Yoga The Engine Rooms, Sunderland Street Macclesfield, SK11 6JF United Kingdom (map)

Pincha Mayurasana aka Feather Peacock or Forearm Stand - I remember seeing my teacher do it when I first started practicing. It looked so effortless, so easy, so I tried it, and fell down really hard. And thus I proceeded to fall down a lot for many years, until stopped blindly trying to do the pose and using my inability as an excuse to critique myself, and actually learned the mechanics of HOW.

And this is what we'll cover together in the workshop. There will be the super important anatomy stuff:

- Harnessing flexibility

- Building strength

- Creating neural pathways of sensation from muscle to mind

And also, the lesser considered but in my opinion just as important philosophical stuff:

-The bravery to try

- The humility of falling

- The sassy power of getting back up

What we do on the mat, how we treat ourselves and develop a dialogue the most profound testing ground for life beyond the movement. Inversions can be scary, but the best stuff happens of the other side of discomfort You are so so welcome to come join no matter where you're at on your movement journey - 100% you do not need to be able to do pincha or headstand, but some experience of movement is required. And for those of you already we flying, we'll add funky pincha for an extra challenge.
