Shake the Dust is a movement practice inspired by yogic philosophy and set to music, which integrates body weight movements, yoga and pilates moves, but without the ‘push’ which you might have felt in traditional fitness classes. With a focus on activating the nervous system through the physical body, for mental health and well-being, Shake the Dust is a transformative, embodied, workout of the body/heart/mind that is rooted in a trauma informed approach to exercise. It’s HIIT but deep and available to all of us.

You can expect cardio, yoga, dancing, intuitive movement, strength building, stretching & rest. You can definitely work muscles in this practice and meet yourself at your edge - not to mention experience a brilliant playlist! There will be small targeted movements, repetitive sequences as well as the opportunity to move freely and get your groove on in a safe and judgement free space. Helping you to experience that feeling of really being alive and letting go of the fears and anxieties which so many of us carry.

Sessions are designed for anyone and will at best deliver a cathartic release, a great workout, maybe even sweat, and a strong, resilient body. Designed to deepen connection to self as well as others, if you’re interested in exploring energy or emotions in movement, or if you’ve been looking for a higher intensity practice which also grounds you and within the yoga studio environment, this practice might just be for you!
